In some cases, yes. The timber or parquet floor needs to be stable, sound, sufficiently level and free from significant movement or damage. Because timber-based flooring can behave differently from tiled floors, we recommend a site assessment before installation.

We generally do not recommend it. Laminate is commonly installed as a floating floor and can be subject to movement. That movement can transfer to the new flooring above and may affect the finished result and long-term performance. Installing over an unsuitable base may also affect the applicable flooring warranty.

We generally do not recommend it. Existing vinyl flooring may have movement depending on its type and how it was installed. Adding another flooring layer over an unstable base can affect the new flooring and may also affect the applicable warranty.

The main concern is stability. The new vinyl needs a suitable and stable surface underneath it. If the existing laminate or vinyl moves, flexes or shifts, that movement can transfer to the new floor and may affect its appearance and performance.

No. Removal is not automatically required for every project. Suitable existing floors may be considered for overlay, while unsuitable or unstable flooring should generally be removed or properly prepared before the new flooring is installed.

It may. Warranty coverage is subject to the specific product and installation requirements. Installing over an unsuitable or unstable existing surface can affect warranty coverage, which is why we assess the existing floor before installation.
